Repository Policies

HumBox Take-down policy

HumBox is a repository which is maintained by the Subject Centres for LLAS, PRS, English and History and hosted at the University of Southampton. It was created initially with funding from the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and further developed under the JISC/HEA OER programme.

The aims of HumBox are, amongst other things:

  • - to establish a service to sustain on-line resources in teaching and learning materials;
  • - to enable this service to be tested as a prototype for possible similar services elsewhere; and
  • - to establish an improved service for dissemination and use of teaching and learning materials across the Humanities community and the broader user community primarily, but not exclusively, in higher education.

If you are of the opinion that a resource within HumBox:

  • - is an infringement of your intellectual property rights; or
  • - is an infringement of your moral rights; or
  • - is offensive or unacceptable in some other way;

Please immediately contact llas@soton.ac.uk with the following information:

  • - identification of the item by title, description and its URL;
  • - the nature of the complaint; and
  • - any supporting or substantiating evidence you have.

The item will be blocked during a period of investigation and you will be notified if any further action is taken. The HumBox management team will at its discretion remove or block access to the item.

Any personal information you provide in your complaint shall be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and subordinate legislation. The data controller is the University of Southampton, unless otherwise stated. The university.s data protection policy and guidelines are available from Legal Services.
